A graduate of Keio University’s Faculty of Science and Technology, Ryu joined coconala, a leading Japanese online marketplace for freelance services, as the company’s first hire. He led marketing from the company’s launch through its IPO. He co-founded COSA, Inc. in San Francisco in 2025.
Hiroaki began his career at a software development company after graduating from university. He later joined coconala as one of its earliest engineers, helping build its core infrastructure and leading product development for a range of new business initiatives. In 2025, he co-founded COSA, Inc. with Ryu.
